Some explanations...
The Long Night Cafe is a world-building enterprise where stories about the cafe and its environs will grow, hopefully into an anthology. It is the collaborative creation of two writers, writing as Natalie West and Anne Rose. Because of the organic nature of our story telling any attempt to describe the architecture of the cafe environs would be tentative at best. Suffice to say it is a place of whimsy and exploration.
We intend to eventually seek stories from friends of the cafe who would like to share their own stories on the site. We will keep you posted about the kinds of stories we would accept and how this will come about. Although we are not blogging on the Long Night Cafe at the moment, this may change in the future.

The Long Night Cafe is an entirely natural by-product of sleep patterns first shaped by student all-nighters, then parental duties and the needs of a sole-operator business. The long quite hours when others sleep and dream have always been the ideal time to think and write. Now those scribblings and jottings have somewhere to reside.

We have always told stories. Firstly to ourselves, bouncing ideas by finishing each others sentences. Somewhere along the way we started to write these stories down to hold on to the worlds we have created and the people we have met there.
We both hope you have found some entertainment at the Long Night Cafe for the long quiet hours, whenever they may be.
